Like many owners who wants to keep their existing layout but wishes to upgrade the looks, refacing (also known as resurfacing) is a great solution. It simplifies the process of removing an entire kitchen and offer many advantages over installing new cabinets.
Refacing includes reinforcing your cabinets frame with 1/4" plywood, adding veneer plywood on front edges. Thereafter, mount your new doors and drawers fronts selected. You can complement the transformation with new soft close hinges, new solid wood dovetail drawer boxes with full extension soft close slides, pulls and/or knobs, and moldings.

Refinishing your cabinets could be a cost-effective way of making your old cabinets looks new. You can choose to either refinish the cabinet and reuse the existing fronts or you can replace the old fronts for new ones.
The refinishing process consists of masking around the work area, removing all hardware, sand down cabinets, apply coatings of paint or stain. Updating your hardware to soft closing mechanism is also a good option.
